Now that the eggs have all been found and the Easter celebration is over, we might be asking – now what? Does this story of overcoming and resurrection now end? Hardly. It is our ongoing spiritual journey that leads us to an ever greater realization of our Essential Nature. The story of having a crucifixion experience – often a loss of some kind, followed by spending time entombed in the wilderness, then finally rising up and overcoming is a familiar one and is referred to in mythology as The Hero’s Journey. Our hero or heroine often reluctantly is called into action, faces the dragons that show up in the wilderness and then overcomes what previously seemed insurmountable. This week, Rev. Jane will be taking a closer look at the various elements of this heroic journey and exploring the question of what happens next, with her talk, entitled “After Enlightenment, the Laundry.”
