Throughout the month of November, it is not unusual for our thoughts to turn to gratitude as the season of Thanksgiving approaches and we take stock of the many blessings we have in our lives. Although it is wonderful to have a day set aside to specifically focus on what we are grateful for, giving thanks is not a practice to use only at this time of year. When we make it a daily habit to look for and focus on the good showing up in our day-to-day living, our experience can truly transform. By choosing to sustain a consistent state of gratitude even in the face of challenging circumstances, it becomes a way of life and a generative, pro-active force is activated that can bring about growth and change.
