This talk explores how Jesus is understood in Islam, highlighting his role as a revered prophet and messenger of God. Through an interfaith lens, we will reflect on shared values, key similarities, and respectful differences between Islamic and Christian perspectives—fostering greater understanding, dialogue, and mutual respect. Eyyup Esen, PhD, graduated from the University of Kansas in higher education in December 2015. Born and raised in Turkey, he earned his BA in Foreign Languages Teaching from the Black Sea Technical University, MA in educational studies from the University of Cincinnati, and a second MA in Communication and Leadership from Park University. He achieved his PhD in higher education from KU with high honors and holds a peace education certificate. Currently involved with the Dialogue Institute, also known as the Movement of Global Warming of Hearts. He previously worked as a college access advisor at Wichita State University. Eyyup enjoys working with students from diverse backgrounds, providing assistance whenever needed. Passionate about fostering dialogue across cultures, he organizes various events to promote peace. His ultimate goal is to contribute to the global warming of hearts, aiming to depolarize the world. Eight years ago, he received the Most Outstanding International Student award from the University of Kansas in 2014. In 2018, he published his first book,”Global Warming of the Heart.”
